The leader in electronics industry standards and certifications has released a new mission and vision, advocating for the coordinated development of the global supply chain, and has also released a research report on global trade flows.

On June 23, 2025, IPC (International Electronics Industry Connectivity Association) was officially renamed Global Electronics Association, opening a new chapter and reflecting its positioning as a global leader in the electronics industry at the same time. Adhering to the vision of "Leading excellence in Electronics and creating a better World together", electronics.org will continue to strengthen supply chain resilience and accelerate industrial growth through cooperation with over 3,000 member companies, thousands of partners and dozens of government agencies worldwide.

The board's support and recognition of this transformation fully reflect our consensus that the electronics industry has undergone fundamental changes. The service scope of the association has long tranved the printed circuit board field it focused on at its inception - we are actively empowering key frontier areas such as artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, and new-generation communication. Tom Edman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Global Electronics Association and president and CEO of TTM Technologies, said, "With a new name to depict the future direction, we will continue to deepen our partnerships with governments and industries, promote investment, drive industrial innovation, and minimize the risk of disruptions in the electronics supply chain to the greatest extent."

As part of its new mission, the Global Electronics Association is increasing its resource input to strengthen policy initiatives, deepen industrial research and enhance communication with stakeholders, thereby promoting industrial upgrading. The association is committed to representing the complete ecosystem composed of all key sub-sectors in this complex industry, in order to build a more resilient and continuously growing supply chain system.

The Global Electronics Association will retain IPC as the brand of industry standards and certification programs, which are crucial for ensuring product reliability and consistency. The original IPC Education Foundation has now been renamed the "Electronics Foundation" and continues to focus on addressing the talent challenges in the electronics industry.
